Weddings Beautiful white wedding carriages. Driver in top hat and tuxedo. We can provide service to or from the church and guest rides during the reception.

Funerals Horse-drawn caisson gives loved ones the honor and respect they deserve when the time comes to carry them to their final resting place. Special glass enclosed horse-drawn hearse allows viewing of the casket.

Five Points Carriage History

Five Points Carriage, founded by Ray McKinney, has been providing horse drawn carriage rides since 1990. The business started with only one carriage and has now expanded to three carriages. Some of the notable community organizations that Five Points Carriage has catered to include Botanical Gardens, The Birmingham Zoo, and Oak Mountain State Park. Five Points Carriage has also catered to some of the local shopping centers including The Summit, The Colonnade, Hoover Commons, Eastwood Mall, and Century Plaza. Five Points Carriages has also participated in numerous highly recognized parades in the state of Alabama.

Five Points Carriage services the Birmingham area, but will gladly service out of city and out of state functions when requested. Advanced notice for special events is required.

Horse and Carriage Information

There are three horses stabled at Lonesome Dove Stables off of highway 150 in Birmingham, AL. The horses names are Dickerson, Pearl, and Sue and are all stout draft horses that are street safe. They have carried many on unique and relaxing rides. The carriages are kept in the same location as the horses and are all replica of the 19th Century vis-`a-vis. Each carriage has working head lights, tail lights, flashers, brake lights, and hydraulic brakes for your safety. The canopys on each of the carriages are retractable for purposes of inclement weather or for personal preference.
In 2003, a special caisson was added to Five Points Carriage fleet of horse-drawn carriages. A caisson is a horse-drawn hearse used to carry coffins during funerals. They were historically used for military funerals, but are appropriate for any funeral.
